The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has today received a copy of the Queensland Government's final report of the Noosa Fish Health Investigation Taskforce.

The Taskforce was established to investigate, among other things, whether agricultural chemicals may have been a potential cause of fish deaths and larval deformities at a Queensland fish hatchery.

The APVMA notes that the Queensland Government has committed to also providing it with all the data generated through the course of the enquiry.

Once in receipt of this data, the APVMA will review all new evidence arising out of the Taskforce investigations relating to agricultural chemicals and publish its findings.

"As the independent national regulator, we have an obligation to carefully analyse the data and consider the report's recommendations," said Felicity McDonald, Public Affairs Manager of the APVMA.

The Taskforce's final report is available from the Queensland Government's Primary Industries and Fisheries website.
