Company pays up for non-compliance
A large Australian retail company has been fined $31 500 after it received five infringement notices for the importation, possession, supply and advertising of unregistered agricultural chemical products.
The infringement notices were issued after a formal investigation by the APVMA Compliance and Monitoring team. The company was informed of their regulatory obligations in May 2015, however they continued to sell the unregistered products in-store and online.
In addition to paying the infringement notices, the company is no longer advertising or selling the unregistered products.
The company has reviewed and modified its business processes to ensure that they remain compliant with Agvet laws.
If you suspect an Agvet law is not being complied with, please report it to the APVMA Compliance and Monitoring team on 1300 700 315 or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
