Good label compliance for registered dimethoate products
The APVMA Compliance and Monitoring team are pleased with recent marketplace monitoring of registered chemical products containing dimethoate.
During May 2017, APVMA inspectors randomly visited 15 rural supply stores in central Victoria to verify compliance with the 2011 interim action taken to phase out certain dimethoate uses.
From the inspection of almost 400 units of registered dimethoate product, only two were found with unapproved labels attached. The non-compliant products were immediately removed from shelves and retailers were advised to return the products to their relevant distributors.
In line with the APVMA’s Annual Compliance Plan 2016–17, we will soon be sampling and testing meloxicam.
