Dr Chris Parker appointed as APVMA Chief Executive Officer

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) welcomes the appointment of Dr Chris Parker to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the APVMA.

Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, Luke Hartsukyer, announced Dr Parker’s appointment as APVMA CEO today in a statement available from the Assistant Minister’s website

Dr Parker has provided valuable leadership to the agency in his capacity as interim CEO and this permanent appointment provides confidence in the future direction and delivery of the APVMA’s regulatory operations.

Since his appointment as interim CEO in June 2017, Dr Parker has delivered key policies that support staff retention and relocation, finalised the APVMA Armidale business operating model and progressed internal reform to improve operational performance.

As CEO, Dr Parker will continue to lead on the priorities of improved operational efficiency, regulatory and business systems reform, and the phased relocation to Armidale.
