Crop grouping guidance document

24 January 2019

We have finalised our guidance document on the use of crop grouping in regulatory risk assessments. This follows the listing of crop groups and their individual members published in 2017.

Crop grouping is particularly important for minor crops because the data generated to register a chemical for a major crop use can in some circumstances be extrapolated to minor crops in the same group—without the need for data for all crops in the group.

Our guidance document will help applicants with planning research and development and lodging registration applications. It will provide growers with improved access to chemicals for minor crops.
