APVMA maintains performance
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has maintained its regulatory timeframe performance, with 85 per cent of agricultural and veterinary (agvet) chemical applications completed on time during the December 2018 quarter.
This is the third quarter in a row where assessment performance has been maintained at around 85 per cent.
APVMA Chief Executive Officer, Dr Chris Parker, said staff are to be commended for maintaining timeframe performance.
“I am pleased we have held steady at 85 per cent although some volatility can still be expected.
“We are always looking for ways to improve the predictability of our regulatory decision-making.
“We are implementing improvements to processes and procedures, including stabilising and modernising the APVMA’s ICT environment,” Dr Parker said.
