The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has released its performance report for the September quarter 2020, and has demonstrated continued improvements in timeframe performance.
At the conclusion of the September quarter 2020, 98% of pesticides and veterinary medicines applications were finalised within statutory timeframes, ahead of the 94% and 95% recorded in June quarter 2020.
The rate of permits and active applications completed on-time also increased in the September quarter 2020, with the APVMA finalising 94% of total applications within timeframe, up from 90% in the previous quarter.
The results of the September quarter 2020 performance report demonstrate the APVMA’s commitment to delivering a better regulatory service, by further improving its on-time assessment of agricultural and veterinary chemical products.
In the year ahead, the APVMA’s continued focus will be on maintaining the quality and timeliness of its regulatory decisions, to support Australia’s agricultural productivity while protecting the community, the environment, animals and trade.
