Between 1 July 2020 and 31 December 2020, the APVMA:
- finalised 63 applications for pre-application assistance
- received 1,287 new product, active and permit applications for preliminary assessment
- commenced assessment/evaluation of 1,889 product, active and permit applications
- finalised 2,035 product, active and permit applications.
Overall timeframe performance was 95% for product, active and permit applications types with:
- 99% of applications for pesticides completed in timeframe
- 99% of applications for veterinary medicines completed in timeframe
- 77% of applications for permits completed in timeframe
- 95% of applications for actives completed in timeframe.
In addition:
- 91% of the 1,253 applications in progress are within timeframe
- 96% of applications requiring major assessment for pesticides were completed within timeframe
- 92% of applications requiring major assessment for veterinary medicines were completed within timeframe
- 99% of non-technical applications for pesticides were completed within timeframe
- 99% of non-technical applications for veterinary medicines were completed within timeframe.
