The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has released its December quarter 2021 performance report, finalising 97.9% of total applications within statutory timeframes.

This included steady performance in the rate of pesticides and veterinary medicines applications completed within timeframe, with the APVMA finalising 99.4% of pesticides and 99.1% of veterinary medicines applications on time in the December quarter 2021. There was also a significant improvement in the timeframe performance of permit applications with 91.2% finalised on time.

Timeframe performance for applications requiring major assessment remained high, with 98.8% of major pesticides applications and 95.6% of veterinary medicines major applications on time in the December quarter 2021.

The results of the December quarter 2021 performance report demonstrate the APVMA’s commitment to ensuring Australians are provided with timely access to safe and effective products that support agricultural activity and improved animal health.
