The Australian Pesticides and Medicines Authority (APVMA) has published the proposed regulatory decision related to the reconsideration of active constituents, product registrations, and label approvals for molinate to ensure that products can continue to be used safely and effectively, and meet the legislative criteria.

The proposed decision is to:

  • retain molinate as a safe and effective herbicide for use by Australian rice growers; and
  • affirm active constituent approvals; and
  • vary and affirm product registrations and product labels with increased restrictions to mitigate risks to worker health and safety.

Enquiries about the decision can be directed to chemicalreview@apvma.gov.au.
