The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is undertaking a Process Enhancement Initiative to help shape the future of APVMA and drive operational efficiency.
We are committed to keeping up to date with advancements in processes and technology to remain efficient, effective, and accountable. We want to make sure our processes are regularly updated and remain accessible for regulated entities.
The APVMA has already taken significant steps to implement efficiencies following the release of the Australian Government’s Detailed Response. The Process Enhancement Initiative represents an important next step as we prepare for the future.
Process maps
Work to identify and review current processes is well underway. Process maps for core application and registration processes are publicly on our website, alongside a guide that explains how to interpret them. We will publish additional process maps as the initiative progresses
Have your say
We want to hear from stakeholders who have experience with our processes to ensure this initiative is a success. All ideas are valuable – big, small, process, system, or otherwise.
We are seeking constructive feedback on how our processes can be more efficient, while continuing to meet the statutory criteria. This could include submissions which:
- identify the impacts of specific inefficiencies
- provide specific recommendations for improvements
- identify comparable examples from similar regulators.
