22 November 2022 to 23 February 2023The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) invites written submissions on the proposed regulatory decision and the draft statement of reasons in relation to the reconsideration of malathion, which were published in a Special Gazette on 22 November 2022.
The APVMA is able to consider submissions in relation to the statutory criteria that must be satisfied in order for the APVMA to affirm the malathion approvals and registrations. These are:
- safety, including:
- occupational health and safety
- public health
- environmental safety
- efficacy and target crop safety
- trade, including residues in food
- labelling, including the adequacy of instructions for use on the label.
All submissions related to these matters will be considered by the APVMA prior to finalisation of the reconsideration and publication of the final regulatory decision.
When making your submission:
- clearly identify the issue and state your point of view
- give reasons for your comments, supporting them, if possible, with relevant scientific information and indicating the source of the information you have used.
Please structure your comments in a numbered form, referring each point to the relevant section in the Draft Statement of Reasons or Malathion Review Technical Report.
Electronic submissions to the APVMA are preferred.
