Consultation period

8 August 2023 to 5 September 2023

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is considering an application for approval of a new active constituent, tigolaner, and registration of the products, Felpreva Spot-On for Cats (3 sizes: 1.0 to 2.5 kg, 2.5 to 5 kg, and 5 to 8 kg). Felpreva is a topical spot-on solution containing 97.90 mg/mL tigolaner (9.79% w/v), 81.4 mg/mL praziquantel (8.14% w/v), and 20.35 mg/mL emodepside (2.04% w/v). The products are for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations, control of ticks and mites; and treatment and control of intestinal worms in cats and kittens from 10 weeks of age.

We invite comments from 8 August 2023 to 5 September 2023 on whether approval of the active constituent and registration of the product should be granted.

The APVMA is able to consider comments relating to the legislative grounds, including:

  • chemistry and manufacture
  • occupational health and safety
  • public health
  • environmental safety
  • efficacy and target animal safety.
