The Board is the Accountable Authority of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 and was established under the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Administration) Act 1992 to govern the APVMA and conduct financial, risk and audit oversight amongst other functions and duties.
The APVMA Board meets at least 5 times each year for Board meetings, where it determines the objectives, strategies and policies of the APVMA and ensures the agency is performing its functions in a proper, efficient and effective manner. The Board would like the Australian community to understand the work of the APVMA and will publish a summary of its meetings via regular communiques.
