The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) concluded a public consultation into use patterns for anticoagulant rodenticides in 2020.

Submissions were received from a variety of sectors, including end users, registration holders, retailers, and advocacy organisations. A summary of the submissions received has been published on our website.

In general, submissions supported the continued use of anticoagulant rodenticides with recommended changes to harmonise label instructions. The APVMA Agricultural Labelling Code provides further information about the information that is contained on a label, as well as the format for that information.

Following assessment of the available information and the type and extent of changes likely to be required to allow the APVMA to be satisfied that anticoagulant rodenticides meet the statutory safety, trade and labelling criteria, the APVMA has commenced a chemical review of anticoagulant rodenticides.
