The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) concluded a public consultation into use patterns for anticoagulant rodenticides in 2020.
Submissions were received from a variety of sectors, including end users, registration holders, retailers, and advocacy organisations. A summary of the submissions received has been published on our website.
In general, submissions supported the continued use of anticoagulant rodenticides with recommended changes to harmonise label instructions. The APVMA Agricultural Labelling Code provides further information about the information that is contained on a label, as well as the format for that information.
To ensure the APVMA has properly considered all of the relevant information raised through the submission process, further consultation with affected holders and the states and territories about the recommendation from the consultation to harmonise label instructions is underway.
Unless there is new scientific information brought to the APVMA’s attention, it is likely the appropriate action with respect to label changes will be progressed by mid-2021.
